With WooCommerce active, Postalion Pro adds three kinds of shop sequence on top of what the free plugin already records (the checkout box, the Customer tag, the last-order fields). They need Postalion 1.6 or newer.
Cart left behind
Postalion keeps the cart of people it knows: a logged-in subscriber, or a visitor who typed their email at the checkout. When a cart sits untouched for the minutes you set in a sequence that starts on "a cart sat untouched", the series starts. Use {product_names}, {cart_total} and {cart_link} in the emails: the link rebuilds the cart from what was in it and opens the checkout. A changed cart restarts the clock; an emptied cart is dropped; an order ends the series and marks the cart as recovered. The Sequences screen shows open and recovered carts.
Only subscribers get these emails. A visitor who is not on your list is not tracked and not written to.
After the order
A sequence that starts on "a WooCommerce order is placed" runs when the free plugin records a paid order (processing or completed) for a subscriber. The emails can say {order_number}, {order_total}, {order_date} and {product_names}. A new order starts the series again once the previous run is over, so a thank-you, a how-to and a review ask go out for each purchase.
Quiet customers
A sequence that starts on "a customer's last order is N days old" checks the last-order field every five minutes and starts once per order for everyone past the mark. Tick "stop when the person places an order" so a customer who comes back hears nothing more from it.
What is where
- Carts are in the table
postalion_carts; items are product IDs and quantities, nothing about payment. - Orders are not copied; the sequence keeps only the few values its placeholders need.
- Everything is on your server. Nothing is sent to Postalion or to anyone else.
